Ingredients
Scale
Beef
- 1 lb beef (sirloin, flank steak, or chuck steak), trimmed and cut into 1-inch cubes
Marinade
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
For Cooking and Garnish
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef: Trim any excess fat from the beef and slice it into bite-sized cubes approximately 1 inch each to ensure even cooking and easy eating.
- Marinate: In a mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the beef cubes and toss to coat thoroughly. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours to allow the flavors to develop.
- Heat the Pan: Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Heat until the oil shimmers, indicating it’s ready for cooking.
- Cook the Beef: Arrange the marinated beef bites in a single layer in the hot skillet. Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through, stirring occasionally to ensure even browning.
- Add Green Onions: Just before finishing, stir in the chopped green onions and sauté together with the beef for about one minute to release their fresh flavor.
- Serve: Transfer the garlic beef bites to a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining sauce from the pan over the meat, garnish with optional chopped parsley, and serve immediately for the best flavor and warmth.
Notes
- Marinating the beef longer enhances the flavor but do not exceed 2 hours to keep the texture tender.
- Use olive oil with a high smoke point to avoid burning during pan-searing.
- For a sweeter flavor, substitute honey with brown sugar as preferred.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the skillet to allow proper browning of the beef bites.
- Serve with toothpicks for easy appetizer-style consumption at parties.
